The Story of Lovla: A Little More Color, A Little More Us
Lovla began with a love of coloring and a deeply personal wish: to hold on to the moments that make a relationship yours. When its founder learned that his girlfriend might have early onset dementia, he began looking for a way to revisit their memories together. The idea became Lovla, a couples coloring app launched on February 14, 2026.

A photograph can hold more than it shows
A first date leaves you with things a camera cannot quite capture. The feeling before you meet. The moment you realize the conversation is easy. The tiny details that become part of the story you tell each other later.
The photograph matters because it takes you back to those things. You can look at an ordinary table, a familiar street, or two faces squeezed into a frame and find a whole evening waiting there.
For Lovla’s founder, the possibility that his girlfriend might have early onset dementia gave those shared memories a different weight. Their first dates and the moments they had collected together felt worth finding a new way to revisit. He wanted something they could do with those memories, together.
From a love of coloring to a way of bonding
Coloring offered a starting point. It was something creative, something to spend time on, and something that did not require the perfect words. A page could give two people a place to begin even when a conversation felt difficult to start.
The idea was to turn photographs of their relationship into coloring pages. Their first dates could become outlines. Familiar places could become spaces to fill. They could return to a memory while making something new from it.
That is where the two loves behind Lovla met: the love of coloring and the love of bonding. Making a picture together could become another moment worth keeping.
Room for a memory, room for today
There is a tenderness in choosing the colors for somewhere you have already been. You might try to match the original photograph. You might decide that the sky deserves a much more dramatic shade of pink. The page can hold both the memory and the mood you bring to it today.
The hope behind Lovla was to create more opportunities for that kind of shared time. A favorite photograph would be an invitation to sit together, notice something, or simply enjoy making a mess of the colors.
The uncertainty in this story remains uncertainty. Lovla is a creative app, not a treatment for dementia or a promise to preserve someone’s memory. Its purpose is to help people spend time with their photographs and with each other.
Why February 14
Lovla launched on February 14, 2026. Valentine’s Day became the beginning of a product built around a very personal expression of love: wanting to spend more time with someone and the life you share.
A launch gives an idea a date. The meaning comes from what people bring to it afterward. For one couple, that might be a photograph from their first trip. For another, it might be the only decent selfie from a weekend when everything else went wrong.
Every relationship has its own collection. Some moments are spectacular. Others would need a long explanation before anybody else understood why they mattered. There is room for both.
Start with a photo that belongs to the two of you
If you are new to Lovla, begin with a picture you both like. Turn it into a coloring page, choose a few colors, and see where the evening goes. There is no need to tell your whole story in one sitting.
You can talk about what happened outside the frame. You can disagree affectionately about the color of a jacket. You can leave part of the page for another day.
